Let's Make Homemade Anise Pizzelle
Anise flavor pizzelle are a traditional Italian waffle cookie. Crisp and perfect with a cup of coffee, these delicate cookies are served at holidays and celebrations.

To make the batter, begin by creaming the sugar and butter. Then add the eggs two at a time before adding the anise extract.
Then sift in the flour and baking powder. Use a spatula to stir into a smooth, thick batter.
Once you have your batter together, heat the pizzelle iron. The iron will press the thin waffle cookies.
Dollop the batter into the centre of the mould and press firmly shut to ensure the dough spreads well over the whole pattern.
Carefully remove the pressed pizzelle from the mould and repeat until the batter is finished!
