To make the perfect pizzelle, you'll need: - Flour - Sugar - Butter - Baking powder - Eggs - Anise extract

To make the batter, begin by creaming the sugar and butter. Then add the eggs two at a time before adding the anise extract.

Then sift in the flour and baking powder. Use a spatula to stir into a smooth, thick batter.

Once you have your batter together, heat the pizzelle iron. The iron will press the thin waffle cookies.

Dollop the batter into the centre of the mould and press firmly shut to ensure the dough spreads well over the whole pattern.
