My version of Malagasy cake - the ultimate dessert from Madagascar. Filled with cream, banana and spices. This easy recipe will help you make this warm and cozy sweet treat!

Ingredients for Malagasy inspired cake: - Cream - Sugar - Eggs - Vanilla - Spices (nutmeg and cloves) - Cornstarch - Bananas - Butter

This cake has a pudding like texture - thickened by banana, egg and cornstarch. The recipe is naturally gluten free.

Begin by warming your cream and spices. Then add the cornstarch. Cook this down until thickened.

Then add your mashed ripe banana.  Tip: to make sure this mixes in well and gives best flavour, the bananas should be very ripe!

The last ingredient to add is the eggs - when baking, these will help the cake to set firm.

Bake in a tin for about 40 minutes until the centre is set and a toothpick comes out clean.  This is a moist bake, but should firm up enough to be sliced.
