Easy Moist Tres Leches Cupcakes with Pipettes
A simple small batch recipe for tres leches cupcakes. These fun tres leches cakes have a pipette of the traditional three milk mixture for added flavour and style!
To make the cake batter, you'll need:
- Baking powder
And of course, the tres leches, or three milks:
- Evaporated milk
- Sweetened condensed milk
- Milk (preferably full-fat or whole milk)
The cake batter is a light and airy sponge made using a meringue to assist in the leavening. This gives you the perfect sponge for soaking in tres leches.
When baked the cakes will puff up and rise. Let them cool for a few minutes in the pan and they'll sink back on themselves a little.
Poke holes into the cupcakes and carefully 'feed' with the three milk mixture until well soaked.
Serve with whipped cream, cinnamon and a pipette full of leftover milks!
