What you'll need to make your own apple cider: - Apples - Lemon - Spices - Sugar

You don't need to peel or core your apples for this recipe!

The spices you use can be up to you and altered for your tastes. I recommend cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise.

Simply cut your apples in wedges and add these to a deep sided pan with the sugar and spices.

Pour water into the pan until it covers the apples. The apples will float, but the water should be enough to submerge them if pressed with a spoon.

Place the pan over a medium high heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat, cover and simmer for a couple of hours - the longer the better for the flavours to infuse.

After a few hours, strain through a fine sieve to remove the fruit pulp and spices.
