For ease, I actually recommend pre-scooping all of the cookie dough and placing your dough balls on a spare piece of parchment paper. This means that you'll be better able to redistribute any leftover dough when you're scraping the last bits from the sides of the bowl and you'll know how many cookies you'll be making before you start baking. Then, when baking, you'll already have all of the dough scooped and can simply place cookie dough balls on the baking parchment rather than having to scoop out at this point.
